The artist
Gail Ann Dishman
Gail Ann Dishman is a landscape oil painter in Sedona, Arizona. She works outdoors — plein air — painting the wilderness, red rock, and changing light of the Verde Valley.
Gail paints on location whenever she can: Posse Grounds in Sedona, the streets and hills of Jerome, and the open country around her. Her oils are about weather as much as place — haze that hides the shadows, late sun on canyon walls, a quiet valley after the light has gone gold. She is a member of Arizona Plein Air Painters and has shown work such as “Mystic View” in the Sedona Village Arts Center exhibition. Originals and prints are at Art on the Hill Gallery in the old Jerome High School, Building A, Friday through Monday, 11 to 4. Each original painting is sold once. Prints let more people live with a piece they love.
